I Always Liked the Rain

Meet a stranger on the street and you know what he'll say

If the sun is shinin' nice and bright

"Nice Weather. It's a beautiful day."

Well, I have to agree

But I march to a different drum

I like the changing weather driven by the sun

CHORUS:

I know some like sunshine and those clear, high-pressure days

But I'm at my best when a cold or warm front blows my way

Clouds form, barometer dips and winds rock the weather vane

I'm here to admit: I always liked the rain

Ya know, I always liked the rain

Air is carried by the Jet Stream with all its heat and humidity

But if the warm air hits the cold a cloud is born for us to see.

Grows thicker as the rising air cools

Hits the dewpoint, condensing molecules

And rain falls down: little liquid jewels (chorus)

A drop of water hits my face and I wonder where its been

For years and years out to sea or quenched the thirst of a dyin' man

Or, locked in ice since the Pleistocene

Or, drank by a peasant or a noble king

It's the ultimate lesson in recycling!

Bridge:

Sometimes a storm blows in that rocks my world

A cumulonimbus will all its power unfurl

Oh, lightning, thunder and twisters boy they make me cower

But if my loved ones are safe I love the feeling

Of nature's power!
