Hey, can I have your attention?
I’ve got something important to mention
It’s about the ocean and how we know so little
About something incredibly critical
For every critter on land, there’s a thousand in the ‘Big Blue’
And without the ocean, well, to make it simple…there’d be no me ; there would be no you!
It fashions our air and weather with a delicate chemistry
But it’s 95 percent unknown…so secret…yeah, It’s still a mystery
Hey, can I have your attention?
I’ve got something important to mention
It’s about the strain as populations double
Our oceans are getting more in trouble
Some people say that we’re overfishin’
Others worry what we’re puttin’ in!
No matter what we gotta treat it with care
'Cause even from Kansas City…our trash might end up there
From the tiniest bacteria to the biggest blue whale
So many creatures—they call it home
The ocean: (is our) final frontier unknown
I fret about what’s going on below
But our greatest threat might be what we don’t know
(That’s why I say…)
Hey, can I have your attention?
I’ve got something important to mention
It’s about the ocean and how we’re all connected
And we can’t survive unless it’s protected
HEY! We’re all connected….so let’s protect it…
